A dedicated mother of two, Shaghayegh is a determined artist. She quit her career as a successful banker in pursuit of her ambition to become an accomplished painter. She recognises the difficulties and restrictions of Iranian women and has continuously tried to raise awareness about this issue in her artworks.
Her collection ‘This isn’t me’ is all about her worries as a typical Iranian woman who is obliged to stay within the traditional boundaries while feeling the urge to show the real value and potentials of Iranian women to the society. She believes women are far more than just mothers or housewives and the voice of her defiance is perfectly depicted in this collection.
